Laser Tools Racing’s Aiden Moffat performed remarkably under pressure and stole the show at the Croft opener last weekend to secure his first BTCC win since 2018.

Aiden Moffat

We are incredibly proud of Aiden for gaining both a win in the first race and podium position in the second last weekend at Croft. He truly controlled the first race and claimed his fourth career BTCC win which is well-deserved for the undoubted talent of Aiden Moffat.

The first race of the weekend (19th September) started very miserable and grey with rain in the air; however, Aiden started on pole, Ashley Sutton in 8th and Carl Boardley in 20th and the team, sponsored by CarShop, were ready for action.

On the restart, after one of the Honda’s crashed into the barriers at the complex, it was all systems go and in the end it was a lights to flag victory for Aiden.

Aiden led every single lap and took his first win at Croft and his first pole and race one win anywhere.

In the second race Jake Hill, from MB Motorsport, produced a great move to surge into the lead meaning that Aiden finished in second.

Aiden fought for second and third place with Josh Cook, from BTC Racing and, despite a mid-race hit from the BTC Racing Honda, finished with a podium position.

Ash finished in 5th and Carl in 23rdat the end of the second race.

In the final race, Ash worked hard constantly seeking an opening, especially in the final complex and hairpin but unfortunately had a buckled right wheel from striking the kerb at the first corner.

Ash managed to finish in 3rd and is 29 points ahead of Jake Hill going into the final rounds.

Aiden finished 6th and Carl 15th in the final race.

Aiden had his best weekend yet in the BTCC securing his first win since Silverstone 2018. He is now 7th overall in the Driver’s Championship, which is the highest ever position in his career.

At the end of Croft, Ash is on 261 points, 7 points ahead of Dammish with Colin Turkington 3rd on 249.

Ash leads the independent Driver’s Championship and Laser Tools Racing also leads the Independent Team’s Championship.
